Welcome to Soleful Wellbeing in Loughborough;
Reflexology for relaxation and holistic wellbeing.
Welcome to Soleful Wellbeing!
My name is Julia, I am a level 5 Reflexology Practitioner based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. My background is in healthcare, having worked within the NHS both in hospitals and the community for over 20 years.
Over the last few years, I have really had to work on balancing work, my family and me! I wish I had discovered reflexology sooner to be honest, and I have come to value its benefit alongside other complementary therapies and holistic approaches to maintaining my own personal wellbeing. I decided to train to become a reflexologist and support people in working towards their own wellness goals. I trained at Jubilee College in Leicester in 2024, and Soleful Wellbeing was created!
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists (AOR), supporting my practice and ensuring the highest standards are adhered to.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in your own journey of balance and wellbeing.
Reflexology is a complementary health therapy, working on the feet, hands, face or ears to promote relaxation, and enhance physical and emotional wellbeing. It supports the body’s ability to be balanced in mind, body and spirit, thereby supporting and promoting improved feelings of wellness and empowering personal management of your health and wellbeing.
Reflexology is based on the ancient theory that different points (or reflexes) on the feet, hands, face, or ears reflect different areas of the body, and in this way the body is mapped out on our feet, hands, face and ears. Reflexologists work through touch and pressure, engaging with the thousands of nerve endings present in these areas. This encourages nervous system communication within the body and promotes deep relaxation which in turn can benefit better sleep, improved mood and overall feelings of wellness.
Reflexology is a safe, non-invasive holistic treatment that can benefit people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. This means it is suitable for everyone, and your treatment plan is unique and personal to you! Reflexology can support through all life stages e.g. puberty, fertility, pregnancy and menopause to name a few. It can also be beneficial as a holistic therapy for people living with cancer.
It is usually safe to have Reflexology alongside conventional medicine, but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment or get in touch with me to discuss options further.

A few of the more common conditions that can be supported through Reflexology. It is usually safe to have Reflexology alongside conventional medicine, but if you are currently having any medical treatment please speak to your GP before booking an appointment.
This is on an individual basis. It is common to have 6 weekly sessions to see initial improvements, with treatments becoming more spaced out over time. However, this is completely up to you, and you may choose monthly, every couple of months, or whenever fits you and your schedule.
The first session takes longer as this is an information gathering session, gaining a bit more information about you, your health and lifestyle, and your goals from reflexology. The treatment itself will allow me to assess the areas to work on and create a bespoke treatment plan tailored to your needs. Subsequent treatments will then focus on your personal treatment plan, making adaptations as required.
Generally no! There may be areas that are more tender to touch, but let me know, and the pressure could be adjusted. Sometimes we need to work reflexes on the feet to support rebalance, and this may have some discomfort but this should be short lived and minimal.
No. Whilst reflexology can find areas of imbalance, any health concerns should be discussed with an appropriate health practitioner and I would be signposting you to do so. It is usually safe to have reflexology alongside conventional medicine but if you are having any medical treatment please speak to your GP or consultant before booking an appointment, or contact me to discuss if you are not sure.
As long as there are no contraindications to a treatment, absolutely! This is your treatment time and space to suit your lifestyle. Like anything, consistency is key, and it is advised initially to have regular (weekly) sessions to support your goals. However, if you wanted a weekly treatment or a six monthly treatment, this is your choice and what works for you.
The theory is that areas of the feet, face and hands correlate with areas of the body, and the nerves that run throughout our body connect our mind and these areas of the body. Through stimulation of these areas (or reflexes) on feet, face or hands, the nervous system can communicate with the body to support relaxation. With relaxation can come improved sleep, reduced tension and stress, and ultimately provide a space for your body to find balance and improved wellbeing.
You should feel relaxed and calm afterwards, it’s not unusual to fall asleep during a treatment session! Reflexology can increase circulation, and you may experience a headache, or a mild exacerbation of symptoms the following day. This is perfectly normal, and should subside within 24 hours. If there is any medical concern you should contact your health practitioner as you would usually if you felt unwell.
Wear something comfortable, all that I need to access are your feet, hands or face, so preferably also socks you can remove. You will not need to remove any other clothing. I will have a blanket to put on you as well to remain warm during treatment.
